Monsignor Kevin McCoy blesses the statue of Mary, Our Lady of Fatima, that was recently installed at St. Edmond Catholic School while students watch.

St. Edmond Catholic School has a new statue on display outside of the school.

Ed and Hiedi Touney and family donated the statue, named Mary, Our Lady of Fatima. With the statue will be a permanent plaque that reads:

“This statue of Mary, Our Lady of Fatima, is dedicated especially to the memories of former Saint Edmond students Duane Touney, Edward McElroy and Noelle Conrad, but also to the memories of all former Saint Edmond students. May God continue to Bless them all.”

The statue, which replaced the statue of Mary, is located in front of the St. Edmond auditorium.

Administrators had long been considering a replacement to the statue of Mary.

It had been vandalized and was showing many signs of wear and tear.

The new statue was put in place, blessed and dedicated by the student body on Nov. 21.
