Chris McGowan, a Republican from Sioux City, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives Tuesday.
He will represent the Fourth Congressional District, which includes Webster County and all of its surrounding counties.
McGowan won 161,517 votes, according to election results posted by Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate.
Democrat Dave Dawson won 108,040 votes.
McGowan will replace U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra, R-Hull, who did no seek re-election in order to mount an unsucessful campaign for governor.
