State Rep. Wendy Larson, R-Odebolt, easily won her first full term in the legislature Tuesday.
She received 9,065 votes while Democrat Rachel Burns, also of Odebolt, won 3,752 votes, according to election results released by Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate.
She represents House District 7, which includes Calhoun, Pocahontas and Sac counties plus western Webster County.
Larson defeated Burns in a special election last December to complete the unexpired term of former state Rep. Mike Sexton, R-Rockwell City. Sexton resigned to become director of United States Department of Agriculture rural development programs for Iowa.
