O'Goodies Irish Pub in downtown Fort Dodge will be getting some upgrades, thanks to a newly awarded state grant.
On Thursday, Main Street Iowa announced a $100,000 grant for the bar located at 16 N. Seventh St.
The state agency said the money will be used for rehabilitation and expansion of the building, including a new patio.
Justin Goodno, the owner of O'Goodies Irish Pub, did not return a call seeking comment Thursday evening.
"I want to thank him for his investment in downtown," Mayor Dave Flattery said.
A $150,000 local match is required for the grant.
In December 2024, Goodno acquired the building next to the bar on its north side and later demolished it to create the current patio area.
