1 min read

A Fort Dodge girl whose organs were donated after her 2024 death will be remembered during the 2027 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.

Amyrra Lumsden will be recognized as Iowa's organ donor Floragraph honoree, according to the Iowa Donor Network.

Floragraphs are handcrafted floral portraits displayed on the Donate Life Rose Parade Float. Each portrait honors an organ donor whose gift of life has impacted others. Approximately 30 donor Floragraphs are featured on the float each year. These intricate works of art are created from natural materials such as seeds, spices, flowers and coffee grounds, capturing the likeness and legacy of each donor through a unique floral design.

Lumsden, 16, died July 9, 2024, of injuries she suffered in a July 2 car crash. She was a standout on the Fort Dodge senior High School girls bowling team.

The Iowa Donor Network will have an event at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines to formally announce the honor for Lumsden.

Mike Fleming, of Dubuque will also be recognized as he will be riding on the Donate Life Rose Parade float.
