A Fort Dodge man charged in a deadly September shooting will stand trial next year.

Jamarcus Gully, 20, pleaded not guilty to multiple felony charges Monday in Webster County District Court.

In his written arraignment, Gully pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, attempted murder of a peace officer, three counts of attempted murder, and possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon.

He remains in jail on a $2 million cash-only bond.

He will stand trial Feb. 16 in Webster County District Court.

The shooting happened at 12:29 a.m. Sept. 26 in the 300 block of South Fourth Street. According to police reports and court documents, Fort Dodge Police Department Patrol Officer Dominic Morriss spotted Gully firing a Glock handgun and people on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Morriss fired his weapon at Gully, who tried to get away by running into and back out of the nearby 4th Street Depot. Gully was then arrested by Webster County sheriff's deputies in the 400 block of Third Avenue South, very close to the shooting scene.

Police reported that Derrick L. Stewart, 27, of Fort Dodge, was killed.

Jayvion A. Wilson, 21, and Laquwon A. Moore, 29, both of Fort Dodge, were injured.

A third person, Jada Presswood, is named in one of the criminal complaints accusing Gully of attempt to commit murder, but it is not clear from court records if Presswood was injured.
