With Election Day approaching, Webster County residents still have several opportunities to cast their ballots early, including Saturday voting at the Webster County Courthouse as well as a satellite location at Friendship Haven.
According to Webster County Auditor Krystal Lloyd, approximately 3,000 ballots have been voted or requested by mail so far.
"I'm excited to see the number of voters that have come out for absentee voting already," said Lloyd. "The first floor conference room location has been staying steady with in-person voting."
The estimate of 3,000 ballots includes both completed ballots and requests for mailed ballots, rather than a count solely of votes already cast.
In-person absentee voting continues in the conference room of the Webster County Courthouse from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday through Monday.
Voters also have a weekend option. The conference room will be open for voting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
An additional opportunity will be available today at the Friendship Haven Celebration Center. The satellite voting location will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
According to Lloyd, any Webster County resident eligible to vote may use the satellite location. It is not limited to Friendship Haven residents.
For those planning to vote on Election Day on Tuesday Lloyd said there are no changes to polling locations.
As the final days of early voting approach, she encouraged residents to decide when they will cast their ballots.
"With only a week left until Election Day, make sure to plan ahead for when you are going to vote," said Lloyd.
