Early voting begins Wednesday at the Webster County Courthouse, with weekday hours, a Saturday voting opportunity and a satellite location available ahead of the upcoming general election.

According to Webster County Auditor Krystal Lloyd, in-person absentee voting will take place in the courthouse's first-floor conference room from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekdays through Nov. 2.

The courthouse will also be open for voting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.

"Absentee voting is easy," said Lloyd. "It's your vote, your time, your way."

For residents who prefer to vote by mail, the Auditor's Office will begin mailing absentee ballots Wednesday. Completed request forms must be received by the office no later than 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, for a ballot to be mailed to the voter.

Request forms are available through the Auditor's Office and on the county's website. Residents can also call 515-573-7175 to request a form.

Voters will also have an opportunity to cast their ballots at Friendship Haven Celebration Center, 420 Kenyon Road, on Thursday, Oct. 29. The satellite voting location will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is available to any eligible Webster County voter, not just Friendship Haven residents.

Lloyd reminded voters to bring identification when voting in person. Lloyd noted that those who have moved may also need to provide proof of residency.

Residents with questions about absentee voting, identification or what to bring after a move can contact the Auditor's Office at 515-573-7175.
