The man accused of killing one person and wounding two others in a Sept. 26 shooting in Fort Dodge faces two more criminal charges.
In a trial information filed Thursday by the Webster County Attorney's Office, Jamarcus Gully, 20, of Fort Dodge, is charged with a third count of attempted murder and possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon.
He had already been charged with first degree murder, attempted murder of a peace officer and two counts of attempted murder.
Gully remains in the Webster County jail on a $2 million cash only bond.
A procedural hearing called an arraignment is scheduled for him on Oct. 26.
The shooting happened at 12:29 a.m. Sept. 26 in the 300 block of South Fourth Street. A Fort Dodge police officer on patrol spotted Gully firing a handgun and people on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. The officer fired his weapon at Gully, who tried to get away by running into and back out of the nearby Fourth Street Depot. He was then arrested by Webster County sheriff's deputies in the 400 block of Third Avenue South, very close to the shooting scene.
Police reported that Derrick L. Stewart, 27, of Fort Dodge, was killed in the shooting.
Jayvion A. Wilson, 21, and Laquwon A. Moore, 29, both of Fort Dodge, were injured.
In the trial information, prosecutors wrote that the third count of attempted murder was filed because Gully did "unlawfully and intentionally attempt to cause the death of Jada Presswood." The trial information does not indicate if Presswood was injured.
In the trial information, prosecutors identified the weapon used in the shooting as a Glock handgun.
