UnityPoint Health -- Fort Dodge generated 1,120 jobs and provided $155 million in wages that contributed to Webster County’s economy last year, according to the latest study by the Iowa Hospital Association.

In 2025, UnityPoint Heath -- Fort Dodge created $19.6 million in community benefits and more than 14,000 individuals were served through free and reduced-cost community service programs.
"These programs help us support needs that extend beyond direct patient care, allowing us to improve health and well-being across our region and further our mission of supporting our communities," Glasgo said.
Additionally, the $40 million investment in surgical services allows UnityPoint Health - Fort Dodge to accommodate the latest technology, recruit new surgeons and continue providing high-quality care to patients close to home.
The study was compiled from hospital-submitted data to the American Hospital Association's annual survey of hospitals.
The statewide report, released by the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA), found that Iowa hospitals collectively provided more than $1.4 billion in community benefits, employed 146,616 people, and generated significant economic activity throughout the state.
As an income source, hospitals provide over $10.4 billion in wages.
Hospital expenses accounted for over $24.8 billion of the state's gross domestic product.
