The Sonshine Singers, an ecumenical group of vocalists from Fort Dodge and surrounding communities, are planning a concert called "Faith, Music, & Hope" Sept. 27 at First Covenant Church, 201 Ave. H. It will start at 5 p.m. with doors opening at 4:15 p.m.
For more than 20 years, this group has provided up-tempo and heart-felt anthems, all centered around the message of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Those attending the concert will hear favorite songs such as "Surely the Presence," "Midnight Cry," and "How Great Thou Art" as well as some new anthems.
The local band Jive for Five will play during the intermission.
The Sonshine Singers will be accompanied by Shelly Bottorff, pianist; Brian Robison, bass/cello; and Dean Davis, percussion. Armona Redenius is the director of the Sonshine Singers
A free will offering will be accepted. with all proceeds going to Dean and Julie Davis. Julie Davis is fighting cancer, and the Sonshine Singers want to surround her and her family with love, support and hope.
First Covenant Church is located along U.S. Highway 169 just north of Iowa Central Community College. The entire five acres of church property will be available for parking.
