Shooting victims ID’d by police

FD man was killed

The Fort Dodge Police Department has identified the man who was killed and those who were injured in a Saturday morning shooting.

Derrick L. Stewart, 27, of Fort Dodge, died, according to police. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken by ambulance to UnityPoint Health -- Trinity Regional Medical Center, where he died.

Jayvion A. Wilson, 21, of Fort Dodge, was injured. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He also was taken by ambulance to Trinity Regional Medical Center. According to police, he is in stable condition.

Laquwon A. Moore, 29, of Fort Dodge, suffered a single gunshot wound. He was treated at the hospital and released.

The shooting happened at 12:29 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of South Fourth Street. An officer on patrol saw a man shooting a handgun and people on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. The officer fired his weapon at the suspect, who was quickly apprehended.

Jamarcus L. Gully, 20, of 1303 Eighth Ave. S., was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder of a peace officer, and two counts of attempted murder.

He is in the Webster County jail on a $2 million cash-only bond.
