Webster County Conservation is now offering an opportunity for people to rent a camp site at John F. Kennedy Memorial Park for the entire 2027 camping season.
A few sites will be offered for this seasonal camping option. Each site will have a gravel or asphalt pad, electricity, water and sewer hookups, a picnic table, fire ring and room to park two vehicles.
These sites will be available from April 15, 2027, to Oct. 15, 2027.
Those who reserve a seasonal site will be able to take their campers elsewhere without losing their site.
To apply for one of these sites, campers must file a seasonal camp site application, available at www.mycountyparks.com or at the Webster County Conservation office at the Matt Cosgrove River's Edge Discovery Center, 20 N. First St.
Applications are due by 4 p.m. Oct. 1.
The drawing for sites will be during the Conservation Board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Discovery Center.
Those whose names are drawn will have to pay a $500 deposit by Nov. 1. The remainder of the cost -- $2,250 -- is due by April 15, 2027.
Failure to make the full payment by April 15, 2027, will result in the loss of the site and the $500 deposit.
