Just 16 months after being sentenced to prison for involuntary manslaughter, a Fort Dodge man is back behind bars again.
Olnario Rodriguez-Ruffridge was arrested Saturday by Fort Dodge police after he reportedly broke into an apartment and assaulted two people inside.
According to court documents, at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Rodriguez-Ruffridge forced his way into an apartment at 319 S. Eighth St. where he assaulted both a man and woman inside.
According to the criminal complaints filed in Webster County District Court, Rodriguez-Ruffridge threw the woman against the wall and struck her repeatedly. Rodriguez-Ruffridge also assaulted a man inside and stomped on his head. Upon arrival, law enforcement found Rodriguez-Ruffridge actively assaulting the man.
Rodriguez-Ruffridge is currently being held in the Webster County Jail on $19,300 cash bail on charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, and two counts of assault with intent to inflict serious injury.
In April 2025, Rodriguez-Ruffridge was sentenced to five years in prison after a Webster County jury found him guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the 2023 shooting of his father, Jason Ruffridge.
Rodriguez-Ruffridge served 13 months of his sentence before being released.
