A former Fort Dodge city councilman may be returning to the Municipal Building in a new role.

The council will consider appointing former Councilman Neven Conrad to serve as city attorney when it meets tonight.

The council will meet at 6 p.m. today in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S.

Conrad served as an at-large member of the council for eight years. He resigned in 2022 when he was named the Humboldt County magistrate. Magistrates are prohibited from holding any elected office.

Conrad would replace the late Mark Crimmins, who died July 20.

City attorney is not a full-time role, so Conrad will maintain his private law practice.

The council will also consider awarding a contract for storm sewer repairs on South Seventh Street.

Starting at /week.
