Fort Dodge firefighters examine a car that hit the house at 15 N. 14th St. at about 8:30 p.m. Monday. The car broke a natural gas line, and gas could be heard blowing into the air. The driver of the car ran away from the scene, but was detained by police minutes later. The car was returned to its owner, who was not the driver. A MidAmerican Energy crew was called to stop the gas leak. The incident remained under investigation by Fort Dodge police late Monday night.
