Bahrenfuss named to Iowa Central board
He replaces long-time trustee Chelesvig

Kevin Bahrenfuss, of Webster City, was appointed to the Iowa Central Community College Board of Trustees, filling the District 8 seat previously held by longtime Trustee Thomas O. Chelesvig.
Bahrenfuss was appointed during the college's Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday.
Bahrenfuss, a retired Hamilton County assessor, brings extensive public service experience and a strong connection to the Webster City and Hamilton County communities to the Iowa Central Board.
"Iowa Central holds a very special place in our family, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to serve on the Board of Trustees. As a 1978 graduate and my daughter graduating from Iowa Central in 2019, I've seen the impact this institution has on students and communities," Bahrenfuss said. "Iowa Central is a huge asset to all the counties in Area 5, as well as the state and beyond, and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to serve our residents."
Bahrenfuss succeeds Chelesvig, who has concluded 45 years of service on the Iowa Central Board of Trustees. Chelesvig is the longest-serving trustee in Iowa Central history, having represented District 8 since 1981. His 45 years of service included significant changes in technology and workforce needs, along with substantial growth in academic programs, facilities and student services.
