Area residents will learn how to protect themselves from the growing ranks of scammers during a Saturday morning session.
It is called the Community Fraud and Cyber Security Training. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Fort Dodge Public Library by the City Square.
Mike Larson, market president of First Interstate Bank, and Detective Alex Winninger of the Webster County Sheriff's Office, will conduct the training.
The session is intended to teach people how to:
• Spot scams
• Protect their personal information and online accounts
• Stay safe online
The session is sponsored by First Interstate Bank,The Webster County Sheriff's Office, the Fort Dodge Police Department and the Fort Dodge Community Foundation.
