HUMBOLDT -- A veterans appreciation event featuring a ZZ Top tribute band will be held Aug. 22 at Lower Joe Sheldon Park in Humboldt.
Veterans, active duty service members and members of the National Guard and military Reserves will be admitted free with their military ID cards.
People who are not veterans are also welcome. There will be a $10 admission charge for those who are not veterans or service members.
The gates will open at 4:30 p.m.
At 6 p.m. there will be a ceremony featuring the ROTC rifle teams from Iowa State University in Ames.
At 6:30 p.m. Ride On, a classic rock band, will take the stage.
At about 9:15 p.m. ZZ-KC, a ZZ Top tribute band will take the stage.
Food vendors on site will be Hy-Vee, Godfathers Pizza, and Dean's Kettle Corn. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will have a beer garden.
