Supervisors approve translation, transcription for Dispatch
Software will help dispatchers to communicate during emergencies

The Webster County Supervisors approved a software interface quote Tuesday that will allow dispatch to have calls from non-English speakers translated as well as calls transcribed in real-time.
The quote from Zetron Critical Communications, from Redmond, Washington, was approved for $18,329.85 for a software interface with Axon Prepared 911.
The supervisors also approved reducing the speed limit to 35 mph from 55 mph on 160th Street east of Nelson Avenue. According to Webster County Engineer Jamie Johll, the section of roadway was previously gravel and is now paved with a trail on the shoulder.
Johll also told the supervisors that Webster County had been approved for $1.7 million in grant funding which will be used for bridge work.
The supervisors approved the upfitting of three county trucks by Hiway Truck Equipment, Fort Dodge, for $391,540.51 – two for $158,201 and one for $75,138.51.
The supervisors also approved Kraig Barber with First State Bank from the RFPs on file for Webster County Investments.
Depositories at Northwest Bank, First State Bank and Green State Credit Union were also approved by the supervisors.
