Intersection work begins

0 min read
Messenger photo by Bill Shea Construction workers were starting the reconstruction of the busy intersection of Second Avenue North and 15th Street in Fort Dodge Monday. The intersection was closed Monday morning and will remain closed through November. After the barricades went up, one of the first steps was removing the traffic signals and the poles that held them. Workers from subcontractors Baker Electric and Rasch Construction were on the site Monday afternoon. Castor Construction, of Fort Dodge, is the general contractor. That company has a $3,007,008.21 contract. The city has a $2 million state grant to help pay for the project. When the work is completed there will be a left turn lane, a right turn lane and a lane for traffic going straight ahead on all four sides of the intersection.

Starting at /week.
