FORT DODGE -- First State Bank and Town & Country Insurance will hold a Community Shred Event from 9 to 11 a.m. SATURDAY at 3031 Fifth Ave. S. Bring and shred financial statements, receipts, invoices, and other personal documents. Documents will be shredded onsite by The Shredder. Limit: five tall kitchen bags or copy paper boxes per person. Consult your tax preparer for information on document retention and types of documents that should be shred vs kept.
FORT DODGE -- Rosedale Rapids Aquatic Center, 1111 N. 32nd St. will hold an End of Summer Hawaiian Bash from 1 to 4 p.m. SATURDAY. There will be a photobooth, tattoo station, beach balls and leis. Bring your best-dressed Hawaiian attire and make it a day for the whole family. Admission is $5 or by season pass.
FORT DODGE -- 10th annual Tee'd Off Against Violence Golf Outing will be held at 9 a.m. SATURDAY at the Fort Dodge Country Club, 370 Country Club Drive. The event will benefit the Homicide/Other Violent Crimes Program. There is an online auction at https://HOVCGOLF2026.givesmart.com through Monday. An in-person silent auction at the country club will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until the golfers are done. Anyone is welcome to bid in person without golfing.
FORT DODGE -- Cub Scouts is a program for both boys and girls that are in kindergarten through fifth grade. There will be an introduction to the program from 2 to 4 p.m. SATURDAY at 201 Ave. H. This family friendly event is a chance for our Fort Dodge community to come see what the Cub Scout program has to offer for your child(ren). Come enjoy several activities as you fill out a passport to be entered into a drawing to win a free membership into the Cub Scout program. The Invention Scout Trailer will be traveling from our Omaha office to have interactive S.T.E.A.M. activities available onsite.
FORT DODGE -- The Fort Museum, 1 Museum Road, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. TODAY, and noon to 4 p.m. SATURDAY and SUNDAY. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students and veterans with ID, $4 for children ages 5-17 and free for children ages 4 and younger.
