Krystal Lloyd was appointed Tuesday by the Webster County Board of Supervisors as the new Webster County auditor and commissioner of elections.

"I'm thrilled to start my new role as Webster County auditor," said Lloyd. "I am happy to make this move to continue to serve the citizens of Webster County in a different capacity."

Lloyd, a Democrat, replaces former Auditor Shaunna Abrams, a Republican who resigned earlier this month. Lloyd was the only applicant who met the deadline for application last Friday.

Lloyd previously worked in the Auditor's Office beginning in 2017 as the drainage and real estate clerk as well as working with elections, accounts payable, tax increment financing and valuations.

Lloyd ran against Abrams in 2024 and lost the election, winning only 34.72 percent of the votes. Lloyd was later named the county's budget and finance director in July 2025.

"Congratulations to Krystal on her appointment, and a big thank you to Brenda Angstrom on filling in over the past couple of weeks," said Supervisor Niki Conrad. "I look forward to working with Krystal in this new capacity."

Pursuant to state law, the period of appointment shall be from the date of appointment until a qualified elector is elected on Nov. 3.
