Webster County supervisors receive bids for animal control

The Webster County Supervisors received and placed on file two bids for animal control services in the county.

On Tuesday, the supervisors received a bid from Total Animal Control Company for a retainer of $19,200 with an estimated monthly fee of $1,600.

According to Webster County Auditor Shaunna Abrams, the four-page bid was submitted by Blaine Hepp. A second bid was received from ASAP Safety LLC for a $2,000 per month retainer, as well as a $35 hourly charge with a four-hour minimum for call outs. According to Abrams, the bid was placed by Justin Goodno.

According to Webster County Supervisor Austin Hayek, the supervisors will review the submitted bids and reach out to both companies with questions about the submissions. The bids will be discussed and voted on at the next meeting.

The supervisors also approved and authorized additional funding of $1,500 for each incorporated city in Webster County for recycling fees. According to Supervisor Nathan Montgomery, this funding was already budgeted for and will be sent out by the end of July.

“Rural citizens and farmers use these bins and that increases usage,” said Montgomery. “The communities are looking for a bit of relief with the fees, and this has already been budgeted for.”

The supervisors also approved a bid from Johnson Controls for building maintenance. The one-year contract for $368,718 was approved with the possibility to extend the contract for three years.

Starting at $4.62/week.
