Lehigh man sentenced for 2025 shooting

Perez gets 10 years in prison

DAYTON — A Lehigh man has pleaded guilty to intimidation with a dangerous weapon with intent, a class C felony, after he shot at a Dayton home last year.

Jose L. Perez, 33, entered the guilty plea in Webster County District Court earlier this week. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison without the possibility of parole.

According to court documents, on Dec. 28, 2025, Perez arrived at 101 Third Street S.W. in Dayton where he exited his vehicle and discharged a 9mm pistol into the residence. He then fled the scene.

According to a report from the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, 10 9mm shell casings were recovered from the scene. A search warrant later executed on the gold 2003 Kia Sedona van also yielded 9mm shell casings with a matching headstamp to those found at the scene.

Starting at $4.62/week.
