$1 million awarded to Fort Dodge Regional Airport
Money will pay for terminal projects
The Fort Dodge Regional Airport will receive some updates paid for in part by a federal grant announced Friday afternoon.
The airport will receive $1 million to support terminal modernization, according to an announcement from U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley, a Republican.
According to information provided by the senator, the money would be used for these items:
• An additional family restroom.
• A mother’s room.
• A holding area.
The money is coming from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021.
Grassley reported that a total of $15.75 million has been awarded to airports in Burlington, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines and Fort Dodge.
“Iowa’s airports are a gateway to our state, connecting people and moving our world-class products to market,” Grassley said in a written statement. “Keeping our infrastructure up to date strengthens Iowa’s economy, supports travelers’ safety and promotes more efficient travel.”
