Iowa’s congressional delegation supports attack on Iran

Iowa’s two United States senators and the congressman representing the Fort Dodge area quickly voiced their support for the attack on Iran.

All three took to the social media channel X to let their constituents know they were in favor of the military operation.

“I’m following closely what’s happening in Iran and the region,” Republican Sen. Charles Grassley wrote.

Referring to his wife, he added, “Barbara and I are praying for the safety of our troops. Regime change badly needed. Must stop nuclear enrichment. Can’t have unpredictable leadership in Iran with nuclear bomb. President Trump gave Iran plenty of negotiable opportunity.”

Sen. Joni Ernst, also a Republican, wrote, “Iran is a bully that targets American lives. Taking out this bully will bring peace and stability to the Middle East and the world.”

U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra, R-Hull, wrote “Operation Epic Fury comes after the Trump administration spent weeks calling for a diplomatic end to Iran’s dangerous nuclear ambitions and Iran murdered thousands of its own people who dared to protest for freedom. The leaders of Iran fund foreign terrorists in the Middle East, chant ‘Death to America’ and threaten American lives.”

“I agree with President Trump that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon, and this operation works to prevent that from happening,” he added. “I pray for the safety of our service members, Iowa National Guard troops in the region, and the success of the operation.”
