Hayek seeks reelection to Board of Supervisors

Webster County Supervisor Austin Hayek is seeking a second term in office.
Hayek, who is the chairman of the Board of Supervisors, has declared his candidacy for the Republican nomination in District 1.
“I am seeking reelection to further build upon the progress achieved in Webster County,” he said in a written statement. “There are significant opportunities to continue to drive improvement in infrastructure, conserve natural resources, promote quality of life projects, advance economic development that supports the vitality of our communities as well as the wellbeing of our families and farms.”
“I am dedicated to maintaining a transparent, accountable and responsive county government for all residents,” he added.
The district he represents includes northeastern Fort Dodge, Badger, Vincent, Duncombe, the portion of Stratford that is in Webster County and rural areas in northeastern and eastern Webster County.
No one else has declared their candidacy in that district so far.
Hayek serves on the county’s Conference Board and Board of Public Health. He is the chairman of the Beaver Creek Watershed Management Authority. He is also a member of the North Raccoon River Watershed Management Authority and the Ioway Creek Watershed Management Authority.
He was elected to his first term in November 2022.
He is the location lead for the Landus facility north of Fort Dodge. Hayek was a Fort Dodge police officer for six years.
Hayek has a Bachelor’s degree from Ashford University and an associate degree from Iowa Central Community College.
He and his wife, Kylee, have six children. They live on a farm near Duncombe.
