Calhoun County to hold first women’s summit
Event in Lake City is free
LAKE CITY — The first Calhoun County Women’s Summit, with the theme SHE Grows Here, will be from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lake City Community Memorial Building.
It is sponsored by Calhoun County Economic Development in partnership with Mid Iowa Insurance.
The event will highlight women’s leadership, entrepreneurship and impact in Calhoun County and rural Iowa.
While attendance is free, advance registration is required at the Calhoun County Economic Development website, calhouncountyiowa.com.
The summit will feature local women sharing personal stories of business ownership and agricultural careers, plus practical insights for navigating leadership, career growth and community engagement.
Stacy Besch will be the keynote speaker. Her message is entitled “Empowerment of Women Through Community and Faith.”
Besch is a community college instructor and professional speaker from Algona.
Her keynote address is sponsored by Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics.
“SHE Grows here aligns perfectly with our Calhoun County — Grow Here message,” said Theresa Hildreth, executive director of Calhoun County Economic Development. “Calhoun County is a place where women can build businesses, lead in agriculture, raise families, and stay deeply connected to community. This summit is also about recognizing that strength and creating space for women to learn from one another.”
