United Way honors Pacesetters

Three local businesses were recognized Thursday night for their contributions, and the contributions of their employees, to the United Way in Fort Dodge.

Those companies are Valero Renewables, Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota and Decker Truck Line Inc.

Randy Kuhlman, chief executive officer of the Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way, said they are Pacesetter companies. He recognized them during the annual dinner of the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance at Fort Frenzy.

“We’re here to help families in a crisis,” Kuhlman said of the United Way.

He said the agency helped 570 people during 2025. He added that 460 of them were children.

He said the Community Foundation was started in 2001 by the late Jim Humes. He said it now has $26 million in assets under management.

“That shows the kind of community spirit we have in Fort Dodge,” he said.

Starting at $4.94/week.
