Student athlete killed in bus crash identified
Carter Johnson, 19, of Rapid City, Sioux Dakota, was killed in the Wednesday morning crash of an Iowa Lakes Community College bus, according to the college and the Iowa State Patrol.
Officials released the name during a Thursday afternoon press conference at the college in Estherville.
The crash happened just after 11 a.m. Wednesday on Iowa Highway 4 near Twin Lakes on a section of road known as the Jolley curve. A total of 32 people were injured.
