Laufersweiler will be community engagement director
Former Webster County Recorder Lindsay Laufersweiler has been named the new community engagement director of the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance.
“We’re excited to welcome Lindsay to the Growth Alliance team,” said Astra Ferris, the organization’s chief executive officer.
“In this role, Lindsay will lead our membership and community engagement efforts while overseeing key programming and advocacy initiatives,” Ferris said.”Her leadership will play an important role in advancing our mission to unify and coordinate accountable economic and community development and in strengthening collaboration among businesses, community partners, and regional leaders across our region.”
A Fort Dodge native and St. Edmond Catholic School graduate, Laufersweiler brings more than a decade of public service, leadership, and communications experience to the role. She earned her Associate of Arts degree from Iowa Central Community College and a Bachelor of Science in organizational communications from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri.
Elected Webster County recorder in 2015, Laufersweiler served for more than 10 years. During her tenure, she remained active at the local, state, and national levels, having served on the Board of Directors for the Property Records Industry Association, where she co-chaired the Virtual Engagement Task Force and served as board liaison to the Membership Committee. She also chaired the Iowa County Recorders Association’s mentorship program and served on several Iowa State Association of Counties committees.
She resigned as recorder on July 20, 2025, for a role outside of county government.
“I am beyond excited to join the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance team as community engagement director,” said Laufersweiler. “I am extremely passionate about this community and look forward to building strong connections that support continued growth and opportunity in our region.”
