FD man arrested after chase ends in crash
A driver who led police on a pursuit through Fort Dodge at speeds of up to 80 miles per hour early Friday morning is charged with a long list of offenses.
Connor A. Albright, 20, of 1611 8 1/2 Ave. N., was arrested by Fort Dodge police after the 2020 Kia Soul he was driving went off the road and hit a tall fence behind a house near Fifth Avenue North and 22nd Street.
According to court records, Albright was charged with these offenses:
• Eluding, speed over 25 mph over limit
• Third degree criminal mischief
• Third degree burglary, motor vehicle
• Possession of a controlled substance, cannabidiol, first offense
• Reckless driving
• Driving while license suspended
• Interference with official acts
• Person under 21 using tobacco/vapor product, first offense
• Failure to obey traffic control device
• Speeding
In addition to the pursuit, police officers say Albright slashed three tires and broke a window on a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The criminal mischief and burglary charges resulted from that incident.
Albright made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Friday morning.
District Associate Judge Joseph Tofilon scheduled a Feb. 23 preliminary hearing on the eluding, criminal mischief, burglary and controlled substance charges. Court action on the remaining charges was pushed back 180 days.
Bond for Albright was set at $8,000 cash or surety.
