Humboldt man arrested for breaking into home
He had vehicle reported stolen from Fort Dodge hours earlier
HUMBOLDT — A Humboldt man was arrested after allegedly stealing a car and breaking into a Humboldt County home.
Tyler Dille, 30, is charged with second degree burglary, operating while under the influence, and possession of stolen property.
According to Humboldt County Sheriff Dean Kruger, Dille broke into a home in the 2600 mile of 230th Street Tuesday morning. A female homeowner was at home at the time of the break-in and called her husband who contacted Humboldt County Dispatch. When deputies arrived at the home, Dille had left the premises. He was later arrested during a traffic stop in the area.
The Cadillac Escalade he was driving had been reported stolen from Fort Dodge a few hours earlier.
“This case should serve as a reminder to all residents to always keep their houses locked, spare house keys hidden in a secure location, and to never leave keys and valuables in unlocked vehicles,” said Kruger in a press release.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Fort Dodge Police Department and the Humboldt County Attorney’s Office.
