Hayek, Thode named supervisor leadership
County department positions approved
In the first meeting of the new year, Supervisor Austin Hayek was unanimously voted to chair the Webster County Board of Supervisors and Supervisor Bob Thode was approved as vice chairperson.
Hayek was nominated for the leadership role by Supervisor Niki Conrad, who handed over the title, now being the longest consecutive serving female chair in Webster County.
Thode was nominated by Supervisor John Cochrane and was also unanimously approved.
During the meeting, Jeff Johnson was again named planning and zoning administrator for 2026, Andy Stanberg was named weed commissioner, and Ryan Kehm was named drainage attorney for the year.
The supervisors approved a quote of $71,000 from Ty Wyatt Electric LLC, of Fort Dodge, for generator installation at the Otho Shed for the Roads Department. The supervisors also approved a professional services agreement with Snyder & Associates, of Ankeny, for the design and bidding of the 160th Street paving project. The agreement is not to exceed $65,175.
