Talented musicians from across the region will be on the Laramar Ballroom stage for Brady O’Brien Live’s “Gone Country” concert tonight.

The popular annual fundraiser, which will feature an eclectic variety of songs and sounds spanning multiple decades of country music, starts at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

All proceeds go to support the newly-founded Laramar Legacy Foundation. Iowa Central Community College is the event’s premier corporate sponsor.

“Gone Country is really special to me because it brings together some of my favorite musicians to celebrate the country songs that so many of us grew up listening to,” said O’Brien, a 2022 St. Edmond Catholic School graduate. “Performing alongside these artists is honestly one of my favorite things to do. There’s an energy on stage that comes from playing with people you genuinely love, and I think the audience feels that right away.

“The motivation behind Gone Country is simple: create a fun, high-energy night that feels both familiar and fresh. It’s not about one specific artist or era, but rather, a journey through the country hits everyone knows and loves. We are playing the songs you can sing along to, tap your feet to, and maybe even dance the night away on the Laramar floor.”

Recognizable local names Alyssa Allbee, Malaney Butrick, Mikeal Campbell, Brayden Schmieder, Mason O’Brien, Reese Pederson and Jake Rossow will all be performing alongside O’Brien.

Tickets — available for purchase at https://www.bradyobrienlive.com — are $15 each for general admission, or $33.20 for the VIP “balcony experience” at the Laramar. VIP ticketholders will have access to the Plamor Lounge, a “hidden oasis” behind the walls of Fort Dodge’s iconic downtown entertainment venue, according to O’Brien.

“Hosting this show at the Laramar makes it even more meaningful for me,” O’Brien said. “That space has such a rich history, and bringing live music into it with friends and incredible musicians is something I don’t take for granted.

“It’s going to feel less like a formal concert and more like a big party. A night of music to help a good cause.”

The Laramar Legacy Foundation has been established to create scholarships for students pursuing music or the live-events industry and offer opportunities for them to work and study in the field. The organization will also focus on the general maintenance of the historic building, located at 710 1st Ave. N.

“I’m incredibly excited to be on stage with this group and to welcome audiences in for what I know will be a memorable evening,” O’Brien said.

Brady O’Brien Live — a nonprofit production company founded in 2021 — has hosted over a dozen concerts in Fort Dodge, raising money for various causes and donating a total of $41,500 to different charities in the region.
