Salvation Army kettle campaign needs help
Effort is $17,000 short of goal
Leaders of The Salvation Army in Fort Dodge are hoping that people will be very generous when they see one of the iconic red kettles in the next couple of days.
A $60,000 goal was set for this year’s local kettle campaign.
As of Monday, the effort was still $17,000 short of that goal, according to Capt. Alisha Welch, corps officer of the local Salvation Army.
The campaign, which has the theme “Give With Joy,” will continue until Christmas Eve.
Volunteers are still needed to stand by kettles and ring bells. To sign up, go to registertoring.com.
The holiday season kettle campaign is The Salvation Army’s biggest fundraiser of the year. All of the money it generates remains in Fort Dodge to pay for programs that serve the local community.
