HUMBOLDT — A Storm Lake man killed in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday in Humboldt has been identified.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 83-year old Paul Bengston, of Storm Lake, was eastbound on Iowa Highway 3 last Wednesday afternoon near 2626 220th St. when he crossed the center line and overcorrected. The 2020 Ford Edge Bengston was driving then entered the ditch, hit a driveway and rolled multiple times.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Bengston was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Humboldt Fire Department.
