UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge to host beam signing and raising
Community invited to sign final beam before it’s lifted into place
UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge invites the community to celebrate a milestone in the hospital’s surgery renovation and expansion with a beam signing and raising celebration from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center.
This special event marks an important step in transforming surgical services for the region. Work on the structural precast walls and drain tiles is complete, with near completion on excavation, foundation walls and slab on grade. The construction team continues demolition of the existing same-day surgery space, structural steel erection, and will soon begin exterior framing.
Guests will have the opportunity to sign the final structural beam before it is lifted into place, symbolizing the community’s shared commitment to advancing surgical care in Fort Dodge.
“Each signature represents the people and partnerships who are helping us build the future of health care for our community,” said Leah Glasgo, president of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge. “Together, we’re creating the space where our teams can deliver exceptional care and our patients can heal close to home. We’re proud to celebrate this moment together and want the community to be part of every step.”
The event is open to the public. Beam signing will be available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. followed by the official beam raising and a free community meal.
The surgery renovation and expansion is designed to enhance patient experience, improve efficiency and support the hospital’s mission to provide high-quality, coordinated care close to home.
The beam signing and raising celebration is sponsored by Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota and Hy-Vee.
