Turkey Trot is today at Kennedy Park

The third annual Fort Dodge Young Professionals Turkey Trot race today at John F. Kennedy Memorial Park promises to be a fun day for participants of all ages and fitness levels.

The event does serve a purpose as well, though: the FDYP is raising money for Webster County Conservation.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. today at the Heun Shelter, with the race starting at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 per person.

This marks the first time the race will be an official 5k (3.1 miles) around Badger Lake. T-shirts, medals and prizes will be awarded for eligible, registered participants. There will also be raffles, gift bags, doughnuts and cider available on location.

Kids 13 and under may enter for free, but only paid registrants are eligible for Top-3 category prizes.

Registration is available by scanning the QR code on event materials or through FDYP’s online registration link. There is more information on the Fort Dodge Young Professionals Facebook page, under the “FDYP Annual Turkey Trot.”

All funds will go to support Webster County Conservation.

FDYP’s mission is “to empower and connect young professionals through collaboration, community engagement, and social opportunities that foster growth and success in Fort Dodge and its surrounding neighborhoods.” The Turkey Trot reflects this mission by promoting wellness, connection, and community pride.

Starting at $4.94/week.
