Community Health Center partners with Applebee’s for Giving Tuesday fundraiser
Community Health Center of Fort Dodge will have a special Giving Tuesday partnership with Applebee’s in Fort Dodge on Tuesday.
Giving Tuesday, celebrated annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, is a global day of generosity when individuals, businesses, and organizations unite to give back and support causes that positively impact their communities.
On Tuesday, Applebee’s will donate 25 percent of all food and beverage sales to support the essential needs of Community Health Center patients–including nominal fees, prescriptions, transportation, and other critical health care related expenses.
Community Health Center serves Fort Dodge, Mason City, Dayton, Eagle Grove, Clarion, and Spencer. As a federally qualified health center, it provides care to everyone, regardless of insurance status. It accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and most major insurance plans, and offers a sliding fee scale to make health care affordable for those who qualify.
“At Community Health Center, our mission is to make quality health care accessible to everyone, regardless of insurance, income, or background,” said Renae Kruckenberg, the center’s chief executive officer. “Access to health care is essential, but financial barriers can at times create serious challenges for our patients. This partnership with Applebee’s gives us the opportunity to bridge that gap. Funds raised through this event will go directly toward helping patients afford essential services and maintain their health. By participating, you’re not just enjoying a meal — you’re actively helping to remove the financial barriers that prevent someone from getting the care they deserve.”.
How to participate:? The Applebee’s Giving Tuesday fundraiser will take place all day on Tuesday at the restaurant, 2810 Fifth Ave. S. The public is encouraged to join by enjoying a meal and mentioning the event or showing the flyer to your server.
Supporters can also contribute directly to Community Health Center of Fort Dodge by mailing or dropping off a donation at 126 N. 10th St., Fort Dodge, IA 50501, or by donating online at www.chcfd.com.
“Support received on Giving Tuesday plays a vital role in helping us address the financial challenges many of our patients face,” said Colleen Miller, the center’s chief operating officer. “We encourage community members to participate in this global day of giving, whether that be by a direct donation, joining us at Applebee’s in Fort Dodge or simply spreading the word.”
