The Ward 3 primary election for the Fort Dodge City Council is today.

The candidates are Todd McCubbin, Dennis Mernka, Jeanette Moss and Caleb Pokorny.

Only the top two vote-getters will advance to the Nov. 4 general election.

Ward 3 is the northeastern part of the city.

There will be only one polling place. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fort Dodge Community School District Central Office, 109 N. 25th St.

The current Ward 3 representative, Councilman Dave Flattery, is not seeking reelection because he is running unopposed for mayor.

Council members elected to represent wards serve two year terms.
