Ward 3 primary election set for Tuesday
Voters to narrow field for FD City Council seat
The primary election for the Fort Dodge City Council seat representing Ward 3 is on Tuesday.
A primary election in that ward is necessary because there are four candidates seeking the seat. They are Todd McCubbin, Dennis Mernka, Jeanette Moss and Caleb Pokorny.
Only the top two vote-getters in Tuesday’s primary will advance to the Nov. 4 general election.
Ward 3 is the northeastern part of the city.
There will be only one polling place. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fort Dodge Community School District Central Office, 109 N. 25th St.
The current Ward 3 representative, Councilman Dave Flattery, is not seeking reelection to that seat because he is running unopposed for mayor.
