Cruise to the Woods is Sunday

Hot rods make their way through Dolliver Memorial State Park as part of the October 2024 Cruise to the Woods Car Show. The route goes from Stratford to the Lizard Creek Ranch in Fort Dodge.

The annual Cruise to the Woods that brings about 1,000 classic and custom cars to Webster County will be held Sunday.

The cars will be on display at Lizard Creek Ranch, 1762 Johnson Ave.

About 1,200 vehicles are expected, according to Barb Briggs, an organizer of the event.

Those vehicles will come to Webster County on different cruise routes that will begin in nine cities.

The cruise routes will start in Mason City, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Ottumwa, Mount Ayr, Winterset, Carroll and Sheldon plus Fairmont and Albert Lea in Minnesota.

The cruise routes will converge in Stratford and the vehicles will go through Lehigh, Dolliver Memorial State Park and Coalville before arriving at Lizard Creek Ranch.

According to Briggs, for those who want to come straight to the show site, the gates will open at 8 a.m. There will be a $20 fee at the gate for vehicles that are not pre-registered.

Admission for spectators will be $10 per vehicle, no matter how many people are in the vehicle.
