Voters in Ward 3 will have a chance to cast their vote from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the Fort Dodge Community School District Administration Building, 109 N. 25th St.
Fort Dodge voters will have the opportunity to head to the ballot box on Nov. 4 for the city and school elections, but voters in Ward 3 will have a chance to cast their vote next week in a primary election.
Ward 3 voters can vote on Tuesday to narrow the list of candidates running for their City Council seat. Four candidates — Jeanette Moss, Todd McCubbin, Dennis Mernka, and Caleb Pokorny — are all running for one seat. The top two vote getters will advance to the November general election.
Ward 3 is the northeast portion of the city.
The polling place for Ward 3 voters will open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Fort Dodge Community School District Administration Building, 109 N. 25th St.
On Nov. 4, all voters in Fort Dodge will be able to cast a vote for city and school elections.
On the City Council ballot are: Ward 1: Councilwoman Jennifer Crimmins, Ward 2: Councilman Cameron Nelson, Ward 3: to be decided at the primary, Ward 4: Councilman Kim Alstott and Ed Touney, the City Council At-Large Seats: Terry Moehnke, Eugene Melvin Newsome, Scott Davis, and Michael Haubrich, and for mayor, Councilman Dave Flattery.
There are three candidates running for three seats on the school board. Zach Mason and Molly Nelson are incumbents running for their first full term and Dan Scott is making his first run for school board.
“Don’t forget, polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.,” said Webster County Auditor Shaunna Abrams. “Your vote matters.”
Voters can also cast an early ballot at the Webster County Courthouse from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
