Fort Dodge woman arrested in burglary, beating incident
A Fort Dodge woman has been jailed on accusations that she went into another woman’s apartment and beat her with a bat or club, according to court records.
Keila S. Stabler, 37, 1225 Sixth Ave. N., was arrested by Fort Dodge police and charged with first-degree burglary.
According to the criminal complaint filed against her, Stabler and two men entered an apartment in the 1500 block of Third Avenue North at about 2 a.m. July 4. Officers wrote that the two men held down the woman who lived in the apartment while Stabler struck her with a bat or club.
Stabler was arrested Wednesday in the 1400 block of First Avenue North. She made her initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Thursday morning.
Magistrate Brandy R. Lundy scheduled a preliminary hearing for Aug. 29. She set Stabler’s bond at $25,000 cash only.
Lundy also issued an order prohibiting Stabler from having any contact with the woman.
The two men accused of holding the woman down have already been arrested. David S. Dayton, 39, 1609 12th Ave. S.W., and John C. Schlack, 28, 106 N. 10th St., were each charged with first-degree burglary. Schlack also faces a charge of violation of parole.
