FD man sentenced on federal drug charges
A Fort Dodge man is going to federal prison for a decade after pleading guilty to methamphetamine charges.
Christopher L. Caquelin, 41, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and distribution of a controlled substance, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa.
Federal prosecutors say that Caquelin was part of an ongoing drug conspiracy to distribute 50 grams of methamphetamine between Jan. 1, 2023, and Oct. 31, 2024, in the Fort Dodge area.
He pleaded guilty to the charges on March 26. He was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand.
Caquelin remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s Service, pending transfer to a federal prison.
