Standing for ‘good trouble’

A handful of demonstrators holds signs at the intersection of First Avenue South and 29th Street Thursday evening during what organizers called a “good trouble” rally protesting the policies of the administration of President Donald Trump. About 25 people participated, with some of them standing on each side of the intersection. Many passing drivers sounded their vehicle horns in apparent support of the group, but one driver could be heard loudly telling them that if they walked in front of him his foot would slip off the brake. Thursday’s rally was the third one of its type at that intersection this year. The good trouble name for it came from the words of the late U.S. Rep. John Lewis, who once said “Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and redeem the soul of America.”
