WEBSTER CITYY — Authorities in Webster City identified the two people whose deaths were discovered on Monday.

They are Ashley Harbert, 30, and Ryan Myers, 28, both of Webster City.

“The cause of death for both individuals remain(s) pending, awaiting autopsy results from the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner,” Webster City Police Chief Steve Hanson said in a media release Wednesday.

Webster City Police began the investigation of the deaths when the pair were discovered at 1201 James St. at approximately 10:45 a.m. Monday.

Hanson said then that “investigators believe this is an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the general public.”

According to the Hamilton County Assessor’s Office online record, Harbert is the registered owner of the property.

“Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Webster City Police Department,” Hanson said.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The Webster City Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Webster City Fire Department and the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
