Pate, McNeeley plead not guilty to abuse of corpse
Both charged as part of Dennis Jones’ murder
A Fort Dodge man and woman charged separately with helping to move Dennis Jones’ body after his son shot and killed him last year have both pleaded not guilty in Webster County District Court.
According to court documents, Aidan Pate, 23, and Makayla S. McNeeley, 29, pleaded not guilty last week. They were both charged in June with abuse of a corpse and accessory after the fact.
According to criminal complaints filed against both Pate and McNeeley, they aided in moving Jones’ body from his home at 1440 Second Ave. S to a roadside ditch along 280th Street where his body was dumped.
Police and prosecutors say Dennis Jones was shot three times by his son, Alec Jones, 26.
Alec Jones was convicted of first degree murder last year and is now serving life in prison.
His brother, Nathan Jones, 22, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, abuse of a corpse and accessory after the fact. He is now serving 22 years in prison.
